Restorative Dentistry FAQs
At Gradeless Dental, we’re dedicated to restoring your teeth, smile, and confidence with care and clarity. If you’re exploring restorative options, here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions by patients.
Dental implant restorations can replace one or several missing teeth. Options include:
Single crowns for individual tooth replacement.
Implant bridges for several missing teeth in a row.
Implant-supported dentures for full-arch restoration.
Each option restores function, preserves bone health, and helps your smile look and feel natural.
The healing time after implant placement varies depending on the quality of the bone and its location. Most patients wait three to six months for the implant to fuse with the bone before the final dental implant restoration is performed. In select cases, an immediate or faster option may be possible if healing conditions are ideal.
Root canals have a reputation for being uncomfortable, but with modern techniques and gentle care, most patients experience minimal pain—similar to that of a filling. You may need a root canal when the pulp inside the tooth becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, injury, or repeated dental work. The procedure removes infection and saves the tooth, preventing extraction.
It’s common to need a little time to adjust to a new set of full or partial dentures. Most patients feel comfortable within two to three weeks, although complete adaptation can take a few weeks. If discomfort lasts beyond that, our team can make adjustments to improve the fit.
A dental bridge can replace one to four teeth in most cases, depending on the strength of the surrounding teeth or implants supporting it. Larger spans are evaluated carefully to ensure long-term stability and comfort.
Brush twice a day and use floss threaders or interdental brushes to clean under the bridge. Regular hygiene visits enable us to inspect for buildup or changes and maintain your restoration in optimal condition.
Modern dentures allow you to enjoy most foods comfortably. While very hard or sticky items may still be challenging, proper fit and practice can make eating a wide range of foods easy again.
