What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a procedure that replaces a missing tooth. There are several ways to do dental bridge work, depending on where the gap is located in the mouth. The most common construction is when a dentist puts a crown on the two teeth adjacent to the gap. These capped teeth serve as an anchor for an artificial tooth (called a pontic) that rests in the middle.

Dental Bridge Questions

Will I ever need to replace the bridge?

The average lifespan of a dental bridge procedure is 15 years. However, some have lasted over 30 years with proper care.

Will my new tooth look different than my other teeth?

No. We often craft the new tooth from porcelain or ceramic materials that allow us to match it with the shade of your other teeth.
